A Little Bit of Orange

I think I've been in H&M about 5 times over the past week. It's getting bad, but I have no shame because they have the cutest stuff out right now! I love H&M for their cute clothes and affordable prices. Recently, I found this dress and earrings there and my total ended up being under $75! When I bought the dress and earrings, I was so excited to use them for this blog post. But, I was bummed when I found out that they only carry these items in stores. If you guys would like to try out this look, definitely stop by your nearest H&M and they will probably have it in stock. If not, I linked some similar items! Also, I love how flattering jacquard dresses are. I've found them to be my favorite type of dresses for my body type. This dress does run a little bit short, so I don't think the length would be appropriate for work, but I am definitely going to be wearing this to cocktail attire events!

I hope you all have a great week!

When I am shopping, I'll always make a point to go to jcrew. While looking through jcrew factory the other day, I found these super cute shorts for only $15! I love how they always have sales going on. Like right now, they have 40% off clearance online! I also found this top at H&M. It's only $30 too! I love how it has the tassel/fringe look! Tassels are going to be huge this summer, if you can't tell already!

I hope everyone has a happy Friday! :)

Rainy Day

First off, I just wanted to say sorry for being so absent lately! If you follow me on snapchat, you might've heard me say that I was going through finals week, so I wouldn't be able to post until after. But now, finals week is over (YAY!) so I can continue to post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. :)

Anyways, it's finally spring here in Colorado, so that means it's been raining constantly. And I love it! I love wearing my Hunter boots (as always) and splashing in puddles like a little kid. I think Ryan was getting a little annoyed with me the day we took these photos because I had to jump in every puddle that we saw, haha! Also, these photos were taken by a little pond and we found the cutest little family of baby ducks. It was adorable.

Do you have a favorite rainy day outfit? Let me know in the comments!

What To Wear To a Photo Shoot

May seems to be the time of year that a lot of people are getting professional pictures done. The weather is nice, students are graduating, families want photos for Mother's Day, and weddings are all going on. Ever since I've started my blog, I've learned so much about photography and what looks good in pictures. I've even started my own photography business! With that, I've noticed one problem that many struggle with, and that is what to wear for pictures. If you are stressed about this, don't worry! I'm sharing a few tips on how you can choose the perfect outfit for your photos!

Be comfortable

The most important thing to consider when choosing your outfit is to wear something you are comfortable in. Now, I'm not saying to wear your favorite sweats that you lounge around the house in. Obviously you want to look your best, but make sure to be dressed in something that you would normally wear. If you aren't used to wearing heels, don't wear them for your pictures. Don't like being bold? Don't wear bright pink lipstick. This isn't the time to try something new. You want to make sure that your personality is being shown through your pictures, and wearing something that sticks to your style will help that.

Stay away from mixing patterns

It's okay to have a little bit of pattern in your clothing. Sometimes, I think it actually looks better to have some sort of pattern going on! However, don't try to be trendy and mix two different patterns. As much as I love mixing patterns, it will not look great for pictures. If you want your photos to be focused on fashion, that is a different story. However, for portraits, the focus should be on you, not your clothing.

Wear colors that compliment your skin tone

If you have cool skin tones, wear cool or jewel-tone colors. If you have a warm skin tone, wear warm or earthy colors. Don't know what your skin tone is? Take this survey. It tells you what skin tone you have and even what colors would look good on you! For me, I have very light, cool skin. This means that I look good in jewel-tone colors, like green or purple. Here's another article that tells you exactly what color will look best on you depending on your hair and eye color too!

In groups, wear complimenting colors and patterns, not the exact same thing

We've talked about what you should wear for portraits, but what if you are taking group photos? A lot of people believe that they would wear the exact same color. Personally, this isn't my favorite look. Instead of every person wearing the same color, try wearing complimenting colors and patterns. It's important to show the uniqueness of each individual, while at the same time looking good together. For example, I love what my sister and her boyfriend wore for their photos together. My sister wore a cute bright orange dress (which completely matches her bright personality!) and her boyfriend wore a complimenting light blue plaid shirt. It even has a little bit of orange in it to match my sister's dress perfectly! Here's another article that has a ton of different examples of what to wear for group photos!

Summer Ready with ShopBop Sale (40% off!)

1. Mako Romper (the back of this is so cute!)
5. Soludos White Espadrilles (I have a pair just like this!)

Surprise! ShopBop has graced us with yet another one of their amazing sales, and this time it's 40% off! Remember when they had 25% off and I freaked? Yeah, well this is even better. They have so much cute stuff for summer, I had to share my favorites with y'all. I found a lot of Tory Burch and Kate Spade (my two favs!) for really cheap too. If you've been wanting to splurge on designer stuff, this is the perfect time to do so! Plus, you deserve it. That's what I tell myself whenever I want to justify buying something, lol! You woke up today and got dressed (hopefully), so obviously you deserve to #treatyoself. ;)

I hope you guys enjoy these picks! I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much as I usually do. This next week is finals week and ya girl has got to focus on school too. (Because that is important!) I'll be sure to have more posts for you guys next week! As always, thanks for being the best followers ever! I hope everyone has a good week. And if you have finals like me, good luck!

Coachella Outfit

Around this time of year, the weather gets warmer, the flowers bloom, and the Coachella posts take over Instagram. I'll probably never go to Coachella, but I love the fashion culture behind it. And just because you aren't there doesn't mean you can't feel the boho-vibes from home, am I right?! I love this romper. The bell sleeves and off-the-shoulder top make it so trendy for the summer. Pair it with a floppy hat and nude wedges and you're ready to rock out with you're girlfriends while listening to your favorite music!

Have you ever dreamed of going to Coachella? Let me know in the comments below!

Mixing Classic With Trendy

// Trench Coat (old, similar here) //
// Camel Bag //
First off, I would like to formally apologize for my blinding legs. Usually, I try to get some self-tanner on if I'm wearing an outfit that shows off my legs in the spring (a.k.a my prime-time for whiteness). However, I was running late this day and forgot to put some on. :(

Anyways, I've always had a pretty preppy style. Navy blue, oxford shirts, and/or anything with stripes is what I usually find myself picking out of my closet. However, my favorite outfits are when I pair something preppy or classic with something trendy, like this outfit! The trench coat, top, and striped skirt are all very classic pieces, but the lace-up sandals are more trendy and even the look out. Of course, I had to match them with my favorite Hermes Birkin look-a-like bag! If you feel like your shoes don't belong, a great tip for balancing them out is to grab a purse that is the same color as your shoes. When I first tried on this outfit with the shoes, I wasn't too sure I liked it. But once I grabbed the matching purse, it was so much better!
