Chunky Turtleneck Sweater

// turtleneck sweater // (one size up for over-sized look)
// jeans //
// bow heels // (so comfy!)

Last week, I wobbled through Garden of the Gods to take these outfit pictures. Of course, I got my fair share of stares and comments like, "and I thought I didn't wear the right shoes to hike!" Darn, you're right, I mistook my hiking shoes for heels again! lol. People are crazy. Jokes on them because these heels are so comfortable, you probably could hike in them (or at least stroll.. on the pavement). I actually wasn't planning to buy them. I was trying on a dress at Banana Republic when the lady helping me told me to try these heels on with it. Wow! I couldn't believe how comfortable they were.  And that bow detail? To die for! I ended up leaving the store with the shoes instead of the dress.

Also, H&M has the best fall staples right now! I've seen so many cute sweaters, like the one I'm wearing in these photos.

I hope y'all have a great week!

Sunflowers

In early September, Colorado grows beautiful fields of giant sunflowers. Once, I saw a picture of this field on social media and I knew that I wanted to find it. I had been talking with a few of my blogger friends, Lily, Rocio, and Vanessa, about doing a fun video together showcasing our different styles and we decided that the sunflower field would be the perfect place to film it. In honor of sunflowers marking the end of summer, we decided to wear fall-transitional outfits. You can watch the video below. Check out Lily's blog, Rocio's blog and Vanessa's blog!

Let me know what you think of the video! If you like it, be sure to comment about it and I will make more. :)

Back to School outfit

// Zara Shirt //
// Sandals //

Every year when I was a kid, I would thoroughly and carefully think out my first-day-of-school outfit. Now, I am in my third year in college and nothing has changed. I still make sure to look my best! I found this top at Zara recently and am in LOVE. I don't think I've ever loved a shirt as much as I love this one. It has all the elements that I adore... stripes, embroidery, and an unexpected tie in the front! If I had one article of clothing that represented my style, it would be this shirt!

Do you have a back-to-school-outfit picked out? Let me know in the comments below!

The Cutest Dress for Summer Vacations

                                              // Crossbody Bag // (perfect Chloe Drew dupe!)

Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been so absent lately. After starting my photography business, I've been so busy and a little overwhelmed. I felt that I needed to take a few week break from my blog so that I can recharge and come back with some great content for y'all! While I was gone, I went to New York to visit family. It's always so much fun when I go to visit them. They live on Long Island so we could be going to the beach one day, or Manhattan the next!
I brought this dress along. It is so cute and easy to wear! I always find it useful to bring a few easy summer dresses while on vacation to slip on for dinner. I love the embroidered patterns and colors on it!  I actually found this dress at the The Pink Lily Boutique. I have never heard of them before I got this dress, but I was so glad I did! They have the cutest stuff, and even a whole section for monograms! After I got the dress, I went back and bought two more things that were on clearance for 60% off! It's growing to be one of my favorite stores because of all the good deals they have. Today, they have 25% off clearance! I'm already planning on saving up for this monogrammed rain jacket

What's your favorite thing to bring on vacations? Let me know!

Cabo Swimsuit

Happy 4th of July!! I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. As you probably already know, I spent last week in Cabo. It was so much fun and we spent most of the week relaxing on the beach. I always love getting the chance to be on the ocean. When preparing for summer vacations, I always make sure to treat myself to a new swimsuit. I've recently had the urge to try a high-waisted bikini, but I was worried that they would be unflattering, or look too "50's" on me. After searching different stores, I finally found one that I love love love. I absolutely adore the laser-cut detailing and the ruffle top! I found that the brand Minkpink has a ton of trendy swimsuits. Next time I need a swimsuit, I'm for sure looking there again! I also love this tassel swim coverup. It's so easy to throw on and walk to the pool or beach! I probably wore this about 75% of my trip, lol! This one is an exact dupe of an expensive designer one. It looks exactly the same and it's only $20!

The Cutest Summer Top For Less Than $20!

Hey everyone! Today, I'm writing this post while in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico! My boyfriend Ryan and I decided to take a trip here and we have been loving it so far. We arrived on Tuesday and have been spending the first few days relaxing by the pool and beach. Today, we plan on taking a day trip to Cabo San Lucas. It's only about a 20 minute car ride, and there is tons to do there, so it should be a lot of fun! I'll make sure to post updates on snapchat (@maddie_gillis22) if I can get some wifi!

I wanted to share this outfit that I'm wearing here in Mexico! I actually took these pictures in Colorado knowing that I would wear this on vacation. I figured it would save Ryan and I some work while here so that we can relax more. Don't worry though, I will have tons of pictures from Mexico for you to see! I adore this top because it has two of my favorite elements: off the shoulder and stripes! Y'all know I'll wear anything with stripes! And the best part is that it's under $20 from H&M, score!

Do y'all have any fun vacations planned for the summer? I'd love to hear about it!
